Customer Reviews about Vermont State Police:

  • I have lived in this state for 35 years; I've enjoyed the good and seen the bad. The Vermont state troopers are an outstanding community of professionals. They respond quickly and are trained to handle violence or compassion. If I had to describe them words like elite, level headed, polite and professional come to mind. Thank you all for your service, enduring the worst while remaing calm and polite. An example of what law enforcement should be world wide!

I have called state police twice for a burgarly and suspected burgarlars on my property trespassing. No one has showed up from law enforcement yet. Evidently not important to them.

  • I cannot imagine what life would be like in the USA without law enforcement: we'd be at the mercy of thugs, thieves, rapists, murderers, schemers and the worst dregs of society any of us could imagine. So, while I appreciated the rapid response by the Vermont State Police while encountering the "landlord from Hades"... there's always room for improvement. And I would recommend that, in Vermont, law enforcement troopers and officers be educated about the laws: specifically, landlord-tenant laws. Trooper C. Brown tried to tell me I "owed" my landlord money, and he even told me my landlord could cut off my "heat" in the winter, despite what I told him my attorney said. He seemed to doubt my honesty about my lawyer's statement!!!! Turning off a tenant's heat - or any utilities - despite what the landlord feels he/she is owed, is called "taking the law into their own hands" and legally is defined as an "unlawful/illegal eviction." My landlord has an extensive criminal history - as does one of his brothers (kidnapping, etc.). I was afraid to go to my home because my landlord sent a veiled threat to my life. Trooper Brown was a life-saver in providing me a personal escort to my home (and it seemed to put the landlord on notice, so now I at least am not being harassed daily/constantly); however, Trooper Brown's lecture about bill payments came across as condescending and made him appear highly ignorant of landlord-tenant laws. I wished he would have more stressed to my landlord the illegality of his harassment than focus on the dispute of a minor $84 debt when I - a single woman - was more concerned about the safety of my life. Thanks to all those who serve. It's a job I'd never do... but...there's always room for improvement.

  • I know a state trooper and he is a good person. If I needed someone to have my back and protect me, I would want a Vermont State Trooper any day over any other police in the state.
